He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild, and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. You may have heard him sing or do a voice-over on commercials for the SF Giants, Levi's 501 Jeans, Golden Grain Pasta and Macy's, to name just a few. Bob also taught Music Appreciation working at the Adult School Outreach Program for senior and developmentally disabled programs. He continued his music in senior residences and during his retirement from teaching. He felt that he could use his voice and guitar for inspiration, therapy and education. He felt it was very rewarding.
Simmons was honored by the City of Vallejo for his song, "Georgia Street on My Mind", which made him very proud. In the 50 years of his music, he touched many lives. - Producer

Bob Simmons was born in 1926 in Ypres, Belgium. He is known for Rock Follies of '77 (1977), The Kenny Everett Video Show (1978) and The Tomorrow People (1973).- He was an American surfer and surfboard shaper, considered to be the father of the modern surfboard.
During his early teens, he developed a tumor on his left ankle which nearly caused his leg to be amputated. After beating the cancer, Bob was involved in a serious motorcycle collision.
While staying in the hospital he was advised to try surfing. He first rode a surfboard at age 20 at Newport Beach, California. Simmons was also famous for being one of the first to incorporate fiberglass and polyester resin to create a lightweight, durable surfboard. - Camera and Electrical Department
